In Solemn Memory & Hope for Peace

I’m sending this email to invite/remind you of the 9/11 Tenth Anniversary Concert being held tomorrow, Sunday, 9/11. The concert, featuring John Rutter’s Requiem and 3 other songs, begins at 3:30 at St. Mary’s Church in Oswego NY, and at 7:30, St, Mary’s Church in Baldwinsville. The choir of over 60 voices is directed by Mary Lou Bjorkman, and is accompanied on the organ by Ryan Schaffer. Other instrumentalists are Carol Fox, Sue Maxwell, Lynn Dailey, Eric and Ben.  Soloists are Pam Hoffman Giovanetti, April Frank (Oswego)  and Lisa Kisselstein (B’ville).

It seems impossible that it has been ten years since the terrorist attack on the World Trade Centers… an event that changed forever our sense of security in the world. While horrendously tragic in itself, it served as an initiation to the way many people live in the world today. It is our hope that through this concert, we can both honor the memories of the fallen heros who bravely and selflessly went to the aid of those in need, and inspire peace, comfort, and a sense of healing throughout the world. We each can do something to contribute to celestial harmony.  Come join the Greater Oswego Community Chorus on Sunday in spreading peace and healing in our community.

Hope to see you there~

Mary Lou Carpenter-Bjorkman
